I purchased two of these end tables for my bedroom. They are extreme sturdy and provide a lot of storage. The color and finish is beautiful. The instructions are a bit difficult because there are no words, only pictures and for the smaller details of some parts, the pictures are not clear. I did end up having to undo part of the first one because of this. I also used wood glue with the dowels. However I would not shy away from getting these, the time and effort is well worth it.Very sturdy and lovely. My only complaint with it is that the system for the drawer doesn’t open and close easily. I think I’ll probably end up buying a new set of drawer runners. Other than that it’s a great table!I ordered a set of 2 nightstands, one for me and one for my fiancé. Each kit arrived with a defective screw in it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with any extra pieces. My fiancé gave me one of the normal screws so I could finish putting mine together once we realized there were 2 defective screws but now it’s impossible to put theirs together until we get more screws. This type and size of screw isn’t in stock at hardware stores so we would have to order a large pack of them online just for 2 screws. As for the sturdiness of the product, it requires some wooden dowels to assemble. As a result, it is less sturdy than it would be if it only contained screws. Assembly was a bit confusing, even with the instructions as the instructions are a bit unclear and it took me a few hours to put it together. These are not black. They are a dark espresso color. They only look black in the dark. They don't feel very sturdy so I wouldn't trust putting weight on them. They will serve well enough for a bed side table and will hold a small lamp. They are easy to assemble but don't feel securely held together. Wood glue wouldn't be a bad idea to make them more solid. They are well enough for the price.Ordered these based on pictures and reviews on the website. Reviews were varied, and now I know why. I am rating one of the tables 5/5 and the other 1/5, giving an average of 3/5.Both tables assembled easily. I used a screwdriver with a #2 and #3 phillips head (that's the + type, and #2 is the usual one you get in the store. A flat tip "-" type could be used for the #3 as it is just for the lock type bolt/screws). In essence no special tools needed. The directions were good, but not great. For instance the first step was very clear showing where to attach four screws on one item. But then another step had three main assembly parts, and like 10 items going onto each. It was hard to see what holes to put in what screws and of course did not see a couple of the items until later (did not interfere with the assembly). Also the steps do not seem to be in sense order as you assemble the drawer first, yet the drawer is added last to the main table. It just seems like someone experienced made the instructions, rather than making them for someone doing this item for the first time.So the difference. The first table had no visible damage. It fit well together, and the drawer and cabinet door work well. All good. The 2nd one not so good. I noted damage as I assembled. The damage obviously (with exception of the chip on the back and front edge) was done at the factory. Some before it was painted/treated, and an obvious poor patch job on the top. The chipping could have occurred during shipping. But with all the styrofoam and padding, my guess is either during the making or the packing. The wear looks like a display model, but you can really only assemble these once. So maybe a return? Or the quality/inspector was out at lunch when this one came through - I mean really visible issues on every side of the table. Anyway it was too late to try to pack up to ship back (again you can't fully disassemble without damaging it , so just resolved to keeping it.I really like the look but instructions need to be sent with product! It was very challenging and time consuming without the manual.I ordered two. I am not good at assembling things like this but was able to put together the drawer by myself. The rest was mind-boggling. I had to get help from a handy-person and he also had trouble with the assembly. He did use glue (thanks to the reviewer who mentioned that). He also drilled holes to switch one of the cabinet doors so one door would open to the left and one to the right. It took several hours (maybe 5) to assemble the two tables. The final result was two beautiful, sturdy, very solid nightstands. However, when I set them up by my bed, there was a chemical smell, especially on the inside. I aired the pieces outside for a couple of days. They still smell! I can't keep my eye mask in the drawer because the smell saturates the cloth! I don't know if the smell is from the glue (I don't think so because I didn't notice it when using the glue during assembly), or if it's inherent in the paint on the inside. I love them but the smell is something I have to figure out how to get rid of. I have multiple chemical sensitivities so it might not bother most people but it's a big problem for me. Considering that and the difficulty assembling, I give it 4 stars. Really beautiful pieces, though.Nice and dark bedroom stands.Table de salon
